Calling Apollo are an energetic 5 piece rock band from Cardiff with sounds ranging from raw guitar driven riffs to atmospheric orchestral compositions. They started writing music together at the end of 2015 and instantly decided to go into the studio with Romesh Dodangoda (BMTH) where they recorded their debut EP ‘Hunter | Gatherer’. The EP had some really great reviews; Alt Corner described their lead single ‘Monsters’ as ‘a track you could scream your lungs out to at every show’.
Their second release ‘The Great Depression: Act I’ with Todd Campbell (Straight Lines, Samoans) explored the political attitudes in 1920s USA and how they are mirrored in contemporary society. Their lead single ‘Clone City’ was broadcasted on Scuzz TV and when Alex Baker from Kerrang! Radio played the track on his radio show; he described us as ‘Rousing, beautiful and just huge.’
Act. II was released in February 2018 and their single ‘Tiny Things’ has received a large amount of coverage leading to it being playing on Kerrang!, Fresh Blood and also being featured on Alternative Press’ Spotify discover playlist.
